rickshaw driver named Sujan Mia (32) died after being hit by a truck in Sreepur, Gazipur.

The accident took place in front of the Mauna Fire Service Station on the Mauna Kaliakair road of the upazila on Thursday (April 25) morning.

Deceased Sujan Mia (32) is the son of Zainal Mia of Kwa Paschim Khand Karitala area of Sreepur Municipality. He earned his livelihood by driving rickshaws.

Citing relatives of the deceased and eyewitnesses, Deputy Inspector (SI) of Sreepur police station Helal Uddin said that Sujan Mia took a rickshaw out on Thursday morning like every day. He was going to Mauna Bazar from the intersection with a female passenger . A Kaliakoi-bound truck rammed in front of Sujan's rickshaw while taking a u-turn to the north after reaching the fire service station on the Mauna-Kaliakoir road. When Sujan fell on the road, he was crushed by the wheels of the truck.

Sujan Mia died on the spot. At that time, the passenger sitting in the rickshaw was completely healthy. According to locals, the truck and the driver were detained by the crowd. But the truck was found at the spot but the driver was not found.

In this regard, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sripur Model Police Station Akbar Ali Khan told Jayzadeen, "The police were sent to the spot after receiving the information. The body has been recovered and a report has been prepared. In view of the request of the relatives of the deceased, further legal action is underway in this matter."

The shocking incident occurred in Sangareddy district on night of October 14, 2020.

According to police, Jurru Sayilu beheaded his wife Amshamma (35) with an axe at their house in Anantasagar village. He then carried the severed head on his two-wheeler to Narayankhed, about five km away, and placed it at the doorstep of a man he suspected of having an affair with her. Sayilu also threw the headless body in the bushes near the man's house.

Following the altercation, Khan was publicly asked to apologize for his actions. Driven by a sense of vengeance, Khan resorted to the unthinkable – he mercilessly killed and beheaded the young student.

Law enforcement promptly took action, apprehending Khan and initiating legal proceedings against him. The shocking incident sparked a wave of outrage among the local community and the victim's family. Demands for capital punishment for the accused echoed through the streets, underscoring the intensity of public emotions surrounding the case.

Rabijul Hussain's lifeless body, tragically beheaded, was discovered within the confines of the madrasa's hostel room. The gruesome find was made by another teacher who entered the room with the intention of waking up the students for the morning prayers. The discovery prompted immediate action, with the authorities informing the Dholai Police about the incident.

Upon arrival, the police retrieved the victim's body and detained 20 of his fellow students who shared the same hostel room, along with three teachers. The incident cast a dark cloud over the educational institution, leaving the local community in a state of shock and disbelief.

As the young student's life was mourned and his body cremated in the Frenchnagar area following a post-mortem examination, an impassioned plea for justice rang through the air. Family members, friends, and concerned citizens gathered to pay their last respects during the Janaza ceremony, uniting in their call for the accused to face the harshest possible punishment.

The revelation of a teacher's involvement in such a gruesome act has left the community grappling with a complex mix of grief, anger, and disbelief. It may not be possible to determine the manner of death, in circumstances such as death following fall from height. When a dead body is found in front of a tall building, the ascertainment of the manner of death is difficult and in this case, the importance of a psychological autopsy in such circumstance is discussed. Middle-aged female with bronchial asthma, arterial hypertension, chronic venous insufficiency, Forestier disease, hyperlordosis of lumbar spine and vitamin D deficiency developed bilateral leg swelling and rash following 14 hours of air travel. Duplex scan excluded lower limb venous thrombosis. She did not have past history of psychiatric disorder but suddenly developed aggressive abnormal behaviour, confusion and bizarre activities. She removed her clothes and finally jumped off from 6th floor of her residency. She was succumbed to death due to multiple injuries following fall from height. No suicidal letter was recovered from the scene. The manner of death was ascertained as suicide based on eyewitness evidence. Her sudden onset of abnormal and violent behaviour may be an act of automatism without volitional control due to undiagnosed inorganic or organic disease of the brain. The witnessed suicidal behaviour was reverted to accident as a manner of death. The importance of psychological autopsy and teamwork between Forensic Pathologist and Forensic Psychiatrist in suspicious circumstances to ascertain the manner of death is highlighted.
