I've had 225 give out on me and I just placed it on my chest and rolled it downward until I could just deadlift it off me. Yeah it kinda hurts but it's better than your fucking neck. 😮💨

Right, this is a good alternative. If you're going to do bench press style lifts with dumbbells you should still have another person at least present. I've seen two people in my life bash themselves in the face with dumbbells.
