The murder was in the neighborhood of Tancredo Neves, in Salvador, early Friday night 10th. Ukrainian refugee from Luhansk 2 year old Paulina was playing with her friends by a swimming pool when, out of nowhere, a monkey decides it had beef with her personally and homing missiled for her. After being saved by adults that arrived on scene, she was taken to the hospital as the monkey continued to lunge.

Officials confirmed Paulina will survive the attack after she reportedly lost a large amount of blood and was left fighting for her life in intensive care. Surgeons carried out surgery on the kid who has since been moved to a regular ward. Her fingers were fractured and her tendons were torn by the monkey's teeth, with other wounds sustained on her legs and feet.

Ksenia Mishonova, regional children's rights ombudsman, said: "The little girl is on the mend."

The monkey had escaped from a "pet zoo" owned by nearby millionaire wife of a prominent Russian lawyer (Leonid Rosenblum), who reportedly kept a range of exotic animals, including wolves, elephants and monkeys. A criminal investigation into the attack is now underway, as the family made a complaint to the police.

Columbus police released the body camera footage Friday of the officer who fatally shot a man Wednesday night during a chase for an alleged repeat protection order violation at a South Side home.

On Wednesday evening, a Columbus police officer shot and killed Jamie Overstreet, 36. The division will not identify the officer, citing Marsy's Law. Police say Overstreet fled by vehicle and on foot from police, and was shot while running with a gun in the Innis Garden Village neighborhood on the South Side.

Overstreet's death is the fifth fatal Columbus police shooting in less than two months, and was the first of two fatal police shootings within 24 hours in Franklin County.
