During World War Two war shows, like airshows today, were a popular way the military drummed up a patriotic spirit in local communities. The shows demonstrated military equipment to awe viewers and show just what all of the homefront efforts had produced.

Spokanintes were looking forward to attending the “Stay On The Job” war show on the afternoon of July 23, 1944. The show was conceived by Spokane air service command deputy commander Colonel Paul Schidecker to encourage the workers of the Inland Northwest to keep working to produce military equipment and vehicles. By having mock firefights and air battles to show how effective the equipment was in use along with how much wear and tear they underwent, the SPASC hoped to curve the high turnover rate the defense industry was seeing.

With the show beginning at 3 P.M., a crowd of over 100,000 viewers gathered in a natural amphitheater north of Spokane to watch the parades, weapons demonstrations, aerial maneuvers, and bomb droppings. About half an hour after the show began, during the parade of military aircraft the crowd's attention was called to three A-25 dive-bombers flying into sight. Moments later tragedy struck as two of the planes collided and fell to the ground, bursting into flames. The crowd initially believed the explosions to be a part of the show, which promised realism, but soon they began to realize just what they had witnessed. Crews rushed to control the fires, and after a 45-minute interruption, the show continued. The next day it was announced that four men died in the crash, two pilots and two engineers.

The deaths of these young men lived on, in a sense, in the 1956 science fiction film Earth vs. the Flying Saucers. Film crews recording the event caught the accident on camera and the footage of the two planes crashing and exploding became stock footage for Hollywood movies.

A multiple traffic accident occurred on Friday morning May 3 in Machachi, Pichincha. ECU 911 reported that the collision occurred at 11:47 am on Av. Panamericana Sur and Guarderas.

A woman, dedicated to commerce, died at the site, while 10 other people were injured, reported ECU 911. According to authorities, 13 vehicles, including light and heavy vehicles and an interprovincial bus, were involved in the accident.

A truck carrying several kilos of fruit and vegetables overturned and its cargo fell on a vehicle.

The emergency was also attended by the Fire Department of Quito, the National Police, and control agents of the canton of Mejia.

Personnel from the Traffic Accident Investigation Service (SIAT) of the National Police went to the site of the traffic incident to collect evidence and make expert reports. The assistance resources continue working to clear vehicles and detached material.

After 19:00 yesterday, the uniformed officers cleared the three lanes of the road with no further incidents.

A man who was directing traffic was hit and killed by a car on a national highway in Nogata City, Fukuoka Prefecture.

A 63-year-old man who was driving the car was arrested.

According to the police, around 3:30 pm on the 28th, a large truck hit a man in his 60s who was directing traffic for weeding work on National Route 200 in Yunohara, Nogata City.

The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but was pronounced dead about an hour later.

Police arrested Fumio Yanagi (63), a company employee in Fukutsu City, who was driving a large freight vehicle, and are investigating him on suspicion of negligent driving resulting in death.

In response to the investigation, Suspect Yanagi admitted to the allegations, and at the time of reporting, he said, "The left lane was regulated, but I didn't notice it."

A man driving a motorbike at high speed, careless, hit the butt of a Virbuntham truck parked on the sidewalk, causing his sudden death.

Narrative:

THE PILOT HAD RENTED THE AIRPLANE AND WAS TAKING A FRIEND ON A LOCAL PERSONAL FLIGHT. VIDEO TAPE RECOVERED FROM THE AIRPLANE SHOWED THE AIRPLANE FLYING OVER OPEN FIELDS AT ABOUT 10 FEET AGL. IN THE FINAL SEGMENT OF THE TAPE, A POWER LINE CAME INTO VIEW AND THE COMMENT 'UNDER OR OVER' WAS HEARD, FOLLOWED BY 'OVER.' THE TAPE THEN SHOWED A STEEP PULL UP, FOLLOWED BY STALL WARNING ACTIVATION, A LEFT ROTATION, AND A VERTICAL VIEW OF THE GROUND UNTIL IMPACT. GROUND WITNESSES CONFIRMED THE FINAL MANEUVER. THE VIDEO SHOWED ALL ENGINE INSTRUMENTS WITHIN PARAMETERS AS LATE AS 13 SECONDS BEFORE IMPACT.

Probable Cause: THE PILOT'S INADVERTENT STALL DURING THE PULL UP. FACTORS WERE THE LOW PASS, HIS OSTENTATIOUS DISPLAY, AND HIS INABILITY TO RECOVER FROM THE STALL DUE TO INSUFFICIENT ALTITUDE.

Mersin, Turkey

A young woman died when a car ran a red light and hit pedestrians in Mersin. Footage of the accident also emerged. The footage showed the moment when the speeding car hit pedestrians, then a tree, rolled over and caught fire.

Allegedly, at around 07.20 at GMK Boulevard Demirtaş Junction in Demirtaş District of Mersin's Toroslar district, A.D. The car he was driving went out of control of its driver while passing the red light at the intersection.

The car left the road and hit pedestrians and trees. The accident turned into a war zone in which a tree fell and a fire broke out in the overturned car.

While pedestrian Sultan Sedef (32) died in the accident, 3 people including the driver were injured.

After the surrounding people informed, health, fire brigade and police teams were dispatched to the scene. Fire crews cut down the tree and rescued one injured person. The injured were sent to hospitals in the city by ambulance. While the investigation into the accident continues, security camera footage has also emerged.

During the qualifying event for the USAC AMSOIL INC, Justin Owen would lose control of his sprint car and crash hard into the barrier, his car flipped into the air and crashed into the ground, he died shortly later.

A pregnant woman fleeing a kidnapping lost control of her car and ran over and killed a 14-year-old girl.

She and her husband were working delivering and shipping when they were approached by three armed criminals.

The husband got out of the vehicle and was surrounded. The woman fled to try to call the police, but nervous, she ended up losing control of the car and causing an accident, which ended with the death of the 14-year-old girl. The driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition and remains in hospital.

The man managed to escape the criminals and hide in a forest area. He only found out about the accident with his wife when the police arrived at the scene.
