Cyclist dies after being hit by car in BA; Video shows that driver also crashed into a bus and a pole
The accident happened in Feira de Santana and was filmed by a security camera in the region.
A 32-year-old cyclist died after being hit by a car in Feira de Santana , 100 km from Salvador, on Tuesday (23). A security camera in the region recorded the moment of the accident.
The collision occurred on Avenida GetΓΊlio Vargas, close to the intersection with Avenida Maria QuitΓ©ria. In the video, it is possible to see that the cyclist was heading in the opposite direction of the road and was passing in front of a bus stop, when he was hit by the yellow car, which was speeding.
Ademir Farias Oliveira was thrown over the car and fell onto the track. The bicycle he was using was completely destroyed.
Shortly after the accident, the car crashed into a bus that was passing through the area and into a pole. The case was confirmed by the Municipal Traffic Superintendency (SMT), but the agency did not detail the circumstances of the accident.
According to witnesses, the driver of the car felt ill and lost control of the vehicle. He was taken to a private hospital in the city, which was not named. There is no information about the driver's health status.

During World War Two war shows, like airshows today, were a popular way the military drummed up a patriotic spirit in local communities. The shows demonstrated military equipment to awe viewers and show just what all of the homefront efforts had produced.
Spokanintes were looking forward to attending the βStay On The Jobβ war show on the afternoon of July 23, 1944. The show was conceived by Spokane air service command deputy commander Colonel Paul Schidecker to encourage the workers of the Inland Northwest to keep working to produce military equipment and vehicles. By having mock firefights and air battles to show how effective the equipment was in use along with how much wear and tear they underwent, the SPASC hoped to curve the high turnover rate the defense industry was seeing.
With the show beginning at 3 P.M., a crowd of over 100,000 viewers gathered in a natural amphitheater north of Spokane to watch the parades, weapons demonstrations, aerial maneuvers, and bomb droppings. About half an hour after the show began, during the parade of military aircraft the crowd's attention was called to three A-25 dive-bombers flying into sight. Moments later tragedy struck as two of the planes collided and fell to the ground, bursting into flames. The crowd initially believed the explosions to be a part of the show, which promised realism, but soon they began to realize just what they had witnessed. Crews rushed to control the fires, and after a 45-minute interruption, the show continued. The next day it was announced that four men died in the crash, two pilots and two engineers.
The deaths of these young men lived on, in a sense, in the 1956 science fiction film Earth vs. the Flying Saucers. Film crews recording the event caught the accident on camera and the footage of the two planes crashing and exploding became stock footage for Hollywood movies.

The 1955 edition of the 24 hours of Le Mans was a sports car race that soon turned into horror after the driver Lance Macklin's Austin-Healey tried to avoid hitting the Jaguar of the driver Mike Hawthorn, moving to edge of the track where Pierre Levegh was, hitting his rear, making Levegh lose control and head flying to an earthen embankment causing his death and other 83 spectators' and wounding 120 others. This is the worst disaster in motor racist history.

This took place in ViΓ±a del mar, Chile, in December 17th 2021, during an illegal street race.
Kristofer Fallaque was a 39-year-old Peruvian man that moved to Chile looking for better oppotunities for himself and his family; he was married and had a daughter.
In the very early hours of the morning Kristofer tried to cross the Camino Internacional Street, completely unaware that there was an illegal street race taking place in that very Street; when he attempted to cross the street he was run over by one of the speeding vehicles in the race, a blue BMW, killing him instantly; after running Kristofer over the person driving the BMW tried to flee, but because of state of the vehicle after the impact, they were only able to drive 1km before being stopped by the people that witnessed the incident until the police arrived.

The BMW driver was swiftly taken into police custody, and they were later put on house arrest while they awaited trial; i did not find any information on who this person was or what their sentence was but we can assume that they were convicted for involuntary manslaughter, and that carries a sentence of 12 months to 8 years in prison with possibility of perole; it can also include a fine along with the prison sentence (i'm not a lawyer, and i truly hope i did not commit any mistakes while writing this specific part).
PERSONAL NOTE
In every video post i do (excluding Effortposts) i also like to do a little bit of research to give the video some context and if possible a backstory, although in this case i feel like it got a little bit too extensive. This post is not meant to be an Effortpost, because i personally consider it did not take that much effort for me to make (i hope this doesn't sound like i'm bragging or something), but if the admins consider this does count as an effort post then so be it. While i was doing my small research i did not spect the backstory to be this tragic, and this case also really SHOWED me how dangerous an illegal street race can be. The tractor driver standing in front died a painful death when the tractor in gear started auto-starting.
With the help of the mechanic and other passersby present at the spot, he was taken to the nearest community health center, Hardo. Where the doctor declared him dead.

KUALA LUMPUR: Firefighters are in the process of extracting the victims of a crash involving two military helicopters in Lumut today.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department said based on initial information, there were no survivors.
"There were 10 crew members in total. Based on preliminary information, there were no survivors.
"Firefighters are in the process of extracting the victims," a spokesperson told the New Straits Times.
The Malaysian Armed Forces helicopters were believed to have crashed in a mid-air collision over the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) base in Lumut this morning.
The helicopters, an Agusta Westland AW139 and a Eurcopter Fennec, had collided during a mid-air manoeuvre.
It is understood that both helicopters were undergoing formation training in conjunction with the Fleet Open Day scheduled to take place from May 3-5.

Petrozavodsk, Russia
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Karelia reported details of the fatal accident that occurred in Petrozavodsk late on April 22 at the intersection of Lenin Avenue and Kuibyshev Street. Recall that the driver of the Kia Sportage collided with the Renault, the driver of the second car was killed.

Freeport, Trinidad and Tobago

Motorcyclist Aasaf Mohammed, 29, died in an accident in Freeport on Monday morning.
Police said the tragedy happened around 11.30 am on Mission Road, a short distance from where he lived.
The police said a customer was driving out of Saharah Meat Market Ltd when Mohammed came into contact with the driver's side of the car.
He was thrown off the bike. landed on the road and died. No one else was injured.
