17 year old killed by police after driving off with officer

More questions remain after a 17-year-old was killed over the weekend in a Park Police-involved shooting.

Two Park Police Officers were hurt in the process – one dragged – the other trapped in the back seat of a car.

the teen driver of the vehicle has been identified as 17-year-old Dalaneo Martin.

U.S. Park Police officials says they responded to a call around 8:50 a.m. Saturday from D.C. Police for assistance with a suspicious vehicle at 34th and Baker Streets near River Terrace Park, a federal park in northeast D.C.

The driver of the car appeared to be asleep, at which point officials say one of the U.S. Park Police officers got into the vehicle with him. Authorities say the driver then woke up and hit the gas. Officials say the officer's weapon was discharged after they say Martin refused to stop.

Martin was struck and died at the scene. After Martin was shot, the car crashed into a nearby home. The officers involved were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

The teen's mother and family members were at the scene of the crash Saturday morning looking for answers as to what exactly happened.

Alnwick says that per U.S. Park Police policy, the shooting Is being investigated by D.C.'s Metropolitan Police Department's internal affairs division.

She says police say a weapon was recovered from the vehicle.

On October 18, 2022, at 10:10 A.M., the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a call from an adult female residing in the 3900 block of 41st Street who stated her father has just assaulted his girlfriend and threatened the caller, her boyfriend, and her 3-year-old child—also his grandchild—with a shotgun after accusing her of calling 9-1-1. All three of them were able to escape the residence leaving her dad and dad’s girlfriend inside.

Deputies were dispatched to the call at 10:11 A.M. While en route, a deputy contacted the reporting party via telephone to gather more information. The reporting party advised that after returning home from taking her older child to school, she was awakened by arguing between her father and his girlfriend. His girlfriend was crying loudly so she thought her dad hit her. She stated that her dad was likely intoxicated and under the influence of methamphetamines.

Upon arrival, deputies staged nearby the dispatched location and requested our dispatch center conduct a criminal history search on the subject. Deputies learned he was prohibited from carrying a firearm, he had no mental health history and there had been no calls for service at the address within the past year.

Deputies contacted the subject’s girlfriend via telephone. She confirmed that the subject was with her inside the residence armed with a shotgun and would not allow her to leave. Deputies could hear the subject in the background yelling and demanding cigarettes. The Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Detail and Critical Incident Negotiations Team were requested and arrived a short time later. They set up in front of the residence and began evacuating adjacent apartments.

Deputies also contacted the suspect’s daughter who related that she was on the phone with her father and he was threatening to shoot his girlfriend. At that time, the negotiators used her phone to continue communications with the subject. The subject was very agitated and threatened to kill his girlfriend several times. He indicated that he would shoot his girlfriend in five minutes and then in three minutes if officers didn’t send an unidentified male into the residence. At one point, the subject told officers that he could see them and could kill them at any time. He insisted that he planned on “shooting it out” with law enforcement. A short time later, the subject opened the door and stepped out of his residence holding a shotgun in his right hand and guiding his girlfriend out as a shield. Due to concern for the victim’s and deputies’ safety, two deputies fired their duty weapons striking the suspect causing him to fall to the ground. Officers rescued the victim, brought her to safety and immediately rendered medical aid to the suspect. The suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The two deputies are a 13 and 7.5-year veterans of law enforcement and members of the Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Detail. The deceased subject is a 55-year-old male from Sacramento County with an extensive criminal history. No deputies or civilians sustained any injuries as a result of this incident.

Woman with gun ran over by police officer - the look on her face when she realizes she just fucked up is priceless

Pomf2 copy

A woman wanted over a gun-related crime spree was run over and killed by police after opening fire on officers during a high-speed chase.

Madison Sueann Dickson, 21, died in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Saturday after an officer deliberately hit her with his patrol car to stop her shooting at police.

The officer who struck her, Jonathan Grafton, has been put on paid leave while an investigation is carried out.

Dickson was wanted by police over four gun-related incidents in Tulsa during the past week, including shooting a man in the head.

Officers spotted her on Saturday at an apartment complex before she got into a pickup truck and fled with the driver.

She eventually jumped out of the truck and started firing at the officers when Grafton hit her with his vehicle.

Authorities said they had desperately tried to stop Dickson because of the threat she was posing.

She had every opportunity to stop and turn herself in,' police spokesperson Leland Ashley said.

Police said no one was struck by any bullets and Dickson died when she hit her head on the ground

The female driver of the truck was questioned and released.

Dickson had been accused of shooting a man in the head on Thursday night and causing him to crash his car. The man is in a critical condition in hospital.

She had also earlier shot a woman in the arm at a Walgreens store and fired her gun during a robbery at a Best Buy.

An officer, who was previously involved in a high-profile police-involved shooting, shot and killed a man holding a knife to the throat of a homeless veteran in a wheelchair in downtown Jacksonville late Wednesday evening, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Chief of Investigations T.K. Waters said the incident began to unfold just before 11:30 p.m. when officers responded to an armed assault on West State Street, near Florida State College at Jacksonville, after a witness saw Frankie Feliciano holding a wheelchair-bound man at knife-point and went to a store to call 911.

Waters said that Officer Tyler Landreville was the first to arrive at the scene and witnesses pointed him in the direction of the assault.

"Officer Landreville, at that point, began running toward the location of the incident, recognizing the danger involved," Waters said at a news conference Thursday afternoon.

As he got closer, according to Waters, Landreville saw Feliciano holding a knife to the neck of the man in a wheelchair. At that point, Landreville told Feliciano to drop the knife and when he refused to do so, the officer resorted to using deadly force, Waters said.

Landreville fired three shots and the suspect was struck three times, Waters said. Feliciano, 33, died at the scene.

Waters estimated shooting unfolded within 35 seconds of Landreville's arrival at the scene and said the outcome could have been "catastrophic" had the officer not taken action.

This is just a microcosm of what officers face every single day," Waters said. "This decision, though not taken lightly, took place very, very quickly. And that decision helped save the life of one of the members of our community."

The victim, who said he was a homeless veteran and received a minor injury to his nose, said that the officer saved his life. He said he didn't know why the suspect was so angry and was acting out or why he held him at knifepoint. He said he's only known him for a few days and said this came out of the blue.

"Officers are justified in using deadly force when it comes down to things like that. It’s not a whole lot of time to reason with a person who has a knife and has the ability to injure or kill a person. You don’t have much time," said News4Jax crime and safety expert Ken Jefferson, a longtime Jacksonville police officer. “When you’ve got a situation where a suspect has a weapon and he could use that weapon to kill someone else, as well as kill the officer or seriously injure someone or seriously injure the officer, then he’s justified in using deadly force to stop that threat." Landreville, a 10-year veteran of JSO, was wearing a body camera, but the release of any body camera footage must wait until the State Attorney's Office wraps up its review and JSO performs its own administrative review of the case. Landreville was placed on administrative leave, which is routine for all police-involved shootings.

Landreville was the officer at the center of the Vernell Bing Jr. case. He also previously claimed that the Sheriff's Office doesn't do the best job of policing its own.

In the Bing case, the State Attorney's Office released dash camera video of the police pursuit that led to Landreville shooting Bing, 22, after he rammed Landreville’s cruiser in May 2016 in Springfield. The family filed a civil rights wrongful death lawsuit, which is still pending. The shooting, which prompted an FBI review, was ruled justified by the State Attorney's Office.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Feliciano had eight previous arrests, six of which were in Jacksonville. Waters said Feliciano's latest arrest was on Feb. 25, on a charge of aggravated battery using a lug wrench.

A person who spoke to the victim Thursday morning said the suspect recently started hanging out in the area and what happened is not characteristic of the homeless community.

"They('re) shook up because they don’t like what’s going on," Roderick Dorsey said. "They don’t want the community to think they’re a part of that. They’re not a part of that.”

Waters said this was the fourth officer-involved shooting this year in Jacksonville.

“When an officer uses deadly force, he’s using the final straw and his last option that he has," Jefferson said. "When you’re talking about a life, trying to save a life, trying to save your life as well as others, then the justification of deadly force comes into play.”

Police dumped an entire mag on an 'activist' assaulting woman in broad daylight (+Info)

The Baltimore Police officer who shot and killed Tyree Moorehead, 48, a Black man known for spray painting "no-shoot zones" across the city, will not be prosecuted after an investigative report by the state.

Officers responded to the incident near the intersection of North Fulton Avenue and West Lafayette Avenue on November 6, 2022, where the responding officer found Moorehead holding a knife, standing near a woman sitting on the ground.

Investigators said despite multiple orders by the officers for Moorehead to get on the ground, Moorehead lunged at the woman and got on top of her.

That is when 27-year-old officer Zachary Rutherford opened fire, shooting 14 times and striking Moorehead 12 times, according to the investigative report.

An ambulance took Moorehead to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries.

The woman was not seriously injured in the altercation, police said. According to the report, she told police Moorehead grabbed her and began dragging her into the middle of the street by her purse as she attempted to resist.
