BALI EXPRESS - Another tragic accident occurred on the Rembang Pantura Road, precisely at the red light junction near RSUD dr. R. Soetrasno Rembang, on Thursday (4/4) at around 11:30 a.m. WIB.The accident involved an Isuzu box truck B 9276 PXS driven by Zaenal Saifudin (32) from Bekasi and a Honda CB15A K 4934 QM driven by Abdul Basid (58) from Pamotan.
As a result of this accident, Abdul Basid died at the scene due to severe head injuries.
According to Kasatlantas Polres Rembang, AKP Sugito through Kanit Gakkum Iptu Hengki, the box truck was traveling from the east (Surabaya) to the west (Semarang).
When it arrived at the red light junction near Rembang Hospital, the red light was on and the box truck was supposed to stop.
However, Zaenal Saifudin allegedly did not obey the traffic signs and continued driving.
At the same time, Abdul Basid was traveling from the south heading east. Because the distance was too close, the accident was inevitable.
Due to the severity of the impact, Abdul Basid suffered severe head injuries and died at the scene.
Rembang Police Traffic Unit officers secured the box truck driver and several witnesses for further questioning.

This is the tragic moment an 18-year-old pregnant girl was run over by a van in Brazil, killing her and the baby she was expecting with her 20-year-old husband, who was injured.
The frightening video footage shows Gabriela Oliveira and Leonardo Santos walking along a sidewalk on their way home in the São Paulo town of Itaim Paulista when they were struck Monday.
A Volkswagen van was traveling on the left lane of the road when the driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle and skidded across the foot pavement.
Santos could be seen attempting to block Oliveira before the vehicle slammed into the couple.
Bystanders immediately rushed to their side in an attempt to save them. Oliveira appeared to have been pinned between the wall of a building and the van.
Authorities said the driver encountered mechanical issues with the van Sunday.
However, it's unknown if the problem has been corrected.
Brazilian news outlet SBT News reported that Santos sent audio messages to his brother from the accident site and told him he was worried about Oliveira.
'The (van) ran over us. The rescuers are here helping us, but I don't know how she is now because they took me away from her. So I wanted to let you know, okay?' he said
Santos also told his brother that the paramedics assured him that Oliveira was ok before they taken to Santa Marcelina Hospital.
'But they're saying that she's fine, that her heart rate (is under) control. The (vehicle) lost control, hit us on the sidewalk. We were already on our way home. That's all I remember. When I woke up she was lying on the ground there. I am really worried brother.'
Oliveira suffered a heart attack and died at the medical facility.

At least 14 people were killed and several others injured when a speedy truck hit several vehicles in Gabkhan Bridge area under Sadar upazila in Jhalakathi Wednesday afternoon.
The accident took place at about 2:00pm when the truck ploughed through several vehicles including a three-wheeler and a private car, officer-in-charge of Jhalakathi Sadar Police Station Shahidul Islam told journalists.
He said that six people died on the spot and six others succumbed to their injuries at Jhalakathi Sadar Hospital.
Two more succumbed to their injuries at Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital where 11 wounded persons were taken after the accident, SBMC Director Dr Saiful Islam.
Over 20 persons have been injured in the accident.
Three fire fighting units were conducting rescue operation, said fire service rescue worker Shihab Uddin.
The injured persons were rushed to the Jhalakathti Sadar Hospital and Barishal Sher-e Bangla Medical College Hospital.

The seconds of an accident involving a four-wheeled vehicle and a motorcycle on the Padang-Bukittinggi alternative road in Malalak were recorded by the car's dashcam.The video shows that the motorcycle left its lane and hit the car. The accident occurred at the location of the uphill bend on Saturday (13/4/2024) at around 1:16 pm.
Based on the car dashcam footage obtained by Sumbarkita, initially the car was traveling at a moderate speed in the left lane. Not long after, a motorcycle suddenly appeared and immediately hit the car. It is suspected that the motorcycle lost control.
The motorcyclist and pillion rider immediately bounced when they hit the car.
Another video uploaded by Facebook account Every Andi shows the scene immediately after the accident. Three people were seen lying on the side of the road.
"Just now there was an accident on the via malalak bukittinggi road between a motorcyclist and a four-wheeled rider," Every Andi captioned his post.
He explained that the two vehicles were involved in a goat fight from opposite directions.
"It is estimated that a mother motorcyclist died on the spot and two children suffered severe injuries. It is hoped that colleagues will be careful traveling," he added.
The condition of the three victims is not yet known. When this information was submitted, Sumbarkita was still gathering further information from the authorities.

California ~ A teenage girl died after she was hit by a van, authorities said. The crash happened at about 6:05 am in the area of Western Avenue & Filmore Drive, Buena Park police said.
A video from a neighbor's security camera shows 2 females walking into the middle of the road, to get a closer look at something not clearly visible in the footage, in the middle of the street. There had been a dead cat there since the night before, neighbors said.
One teen took a step forward to get an even closer look at the cat, while the other remained behind and was struck by the van.
The driver pulled over and cooperated with police. He was not arrested.

KUALA LUMPUR: Firefighters are in the process of extracting the victims of a crash involving two military helicopters in Lumut today.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department said based on initial information, there were no survivors.
"There were 10 crew members in total. Based on preliminary information, there were no survivors.
"Firefighters are in the process of extracting the victims," a spokesperson told the New Straits Times.
The Malaysian Armed Forces helicopters were believed to have crashed in a mid-air collision over the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) base in Lumut this morning.
The helicopters, an Agusta Westland AW139 and a Eurcopter Fennec, had collided during a mid-air manoeuvre.
It is understood that both helicopters were undergoing formation training in conjunction with the Fleet Open Day scheduled to take place from May 3-5.
